3M Cogent MiY biometric reader

2N^® IP Vario or 2N^® IP Force with installed Card Reader module, firmware version 1.15.5.308.7 or newer.

Functionality

• Control of 2N IP Intercom lock via fingerprint scanned by MiY reader.

MiY configuration

• No special configuration, according to manual allows Wiegand output and disable  Wiegand Passtrough.

Kindly use wiring as per User Manual or photo below:

2N IP Intercom configuration

• Please configure all settings according to usual practice.

• Enable card reader and set Wiegand to Input mode with no facility code change.

For 2N^® IP Vario please use wiring as follows

Please not that is is necessary to connect +5V output on the card reader module to both W1 and W0 data connectors of Wiegand interface, both through separate 1kOhm resistor.

For 2N^® IP Force the connection is similar, GND to GND, W1 to W1 and W0 to W0 between 2N IP Intercom and MiY. Also W1 and W0 have to be connected, but to +12V output of 2N^® IP Force card reader. As the voltage is used as pull-up powering of the interface, thanks to the voltage protection of Wiegand interface on 2N^® IP Force, higher voltage poses no danger.
