Spectre UHF external card reader
How to connect it to 2N IP Intercom?
The STid Spectre UHF external card reader is a long range reader which may be interconnected with 2N IP Intercom via a Wiegand interface. The Wiegand interface is available for the following 2N devices:
2N® IP Verso
2N® IP Vario
2N® IP Force
2N Access Units
Check the type of RFID cards supported by the STid reader in their Datasheet.
To achieve this, a 5V positive power source should be supplied to the two Wiegand terminals through a resistor of approximately 500 Ohms on each terminal. This power source is in addition to the external power supply required by the 3rd party reader. The negative wire of the power source should be connected to the ground terminal of the Wiegand interface.
2N® IP Verso wiring
For demonstration purposes; please see below for examples of this wiring scheme using the 2N® IP Verso Wiegand Interface module:

Configuration
Configuration reflecting the type of card and Wiegand format to be used should be made in the web interface of the 2N intercom or 2N Access Unit.
In this case we selected Wiegand 26 bit and ensured that we had assigned the Wiegand input to the desired switch, as well as defining the direction of the reader:
