1.1 Product Description

The 2N® SmartCom PRO GPRS/UMTS/LTE/ETH communication unit is a new product developed and manufactured to provide the maximum utility value, quality and reliability. We hope you will be fully satisfied with the 2N® SmartCom PRO for a long time. Use 2N® SmartCom PRO in accordance herewith for the purposes it was designed and manufactured for.

2N® SmartCom PRO is designed for Internet connection via GPRS/UMTS/LTE/ETH and data storage and retransmission from peripherals connected via RS 232/485/M-Bus/MDB/WM-Bus/ZigBee via the IP protocol and WWAN or Ethernet network to the data requesting server or device. Two relay outputs can be controlled and switched and parameters can be measured on three galvanically connected inputs.

Safety Precautions

Do not activate 2N® SmartCom PRO  in the vicinity of medical apparatuses to avoid interference. The minimum distance of the antenna and pacemakers should be 0.5 m at least.

 Do not activate 2N® SmartCom PRO aboard a plane.

Do not activate 2N® SmartCom PROnear petrol stations, chemical facilities or sites where explosives are used.

Any mobile telephone use prohibition based on RF energy radiation applies to 2N® SmartCom PRO too.

 2N® SmartCom PRO may disturb the function of TV sets, radio sets and PCs.

Warning! 2N® SmartCom PRO contains components that can be swallowed by small children (SIM card, antenna, etc.).

Never exceed the voltage value specified on the adapter. Check the available voltage range before connecting 2N® SmartCom PRO to a different power supply.

 When 2N® SmartCom PRO comes to the end of its operational life, dispose of it in accordance with applicable regulations.

The device is equipped with an external antenna connector. The antenna has to be located indoors for safety reasons. 

Warning

  • Do not place the unit near heat sources (such as space heaters, hot air heaters, etc.) without a reason.
  • The device only works reliably under the conditions specified in this User Manual. Any unauthorised changes in use and operation may result in malfunction or destruction of the product.
