3.2.2 Mobile Data
464The Mobile Data tab for SIM 1 and SIM 2 shows the Internet connection parameters for the given SIM card.
- Access Point (APN) – APN as defined by the network provider for Internet connection (not requested in some networks).
- Protocol – Internet protocol (IP) review responsible for data transmission. IPv6/464XLAT is used by default. To achieve a proper functionality, the user has to be equipped with a SIM card and a mobile provider that supports the selected protocol. Otherwise, redundant erros messages are written into the log (this, for example, can happen when IPv4/IPv6 is set but the mobile provider does not support this technology). 464XLAT is a transitional technology in the context of migration of networks from IPv4 to IPv6 and may not be supported by the mobile provider.
- Username – user name as defined by the provider for Internet login (not requested in some networks).
- Password – password as defined by the provider for Internet login (not requested in some networks).
- DNS from mobile network – allowed use of the DNS IP address obtained from the network.
- DNS 1 – primary DNS server IP address (assigned if DNS is not allowed from the mobile network).
- DNS 2 – backup DNS server IP address (assigned if DNS is not allowed from the mobile network).
Caution
- With software uprade to 1.13.0, the default setting will change from IPv4/IPv6 just to IPv6/464XLAT. In case the name of the APN provider was not completed before upgrade or the setting of the protocol supported by the provider was not confirmed using the Save button, connectivity gets lost. In that case set the protocol locally and manually.
- With software uprade to 1.13.0, the default setting will change from IPv4/IPv6 just to IPv6/464XLAT. We recommend that you complete the APN mobile provider or confirm the setting of the protocol supported by the provider using the Save button before upgrade to preserve connectivity of the device. Otherwise, connectivity will be lost and the IPv4 protocol will have to be set locally and manually.
- We recommend that you change the PIN code on a regular basis to protect your data and use the SIM card safely.
