9.3 User Data Deletion

To delete user data, reset the device to the factory settings. To factory reset the device, choose one of the following options:

Press RESET

  1. Press and hold the RESET button until all the LEDs shine red.
  2. Once the LEDs are red, release the button.
  3. Wait until the LED SYSTEM starts flashing yellow.
  4. The moment the LED SYSTEM flashes yellow, press RESET shortly.

  5. The factory defaults will be reset on the device. All the saved data and settings will be deleted.

ServiceTool

  1. Turn on the ServiceTool and connect the Central Unit.
  2. Go to Devices > Info.
  3. Press Reset Factory Settings in the Maintenance section.

DTMF Programming

Perform a complete system initialization using parameter 899 to delete user data. 

  1. Make sure that you have the correct service password.
  2. Enter the programming by:
    1. Call the L8 phone number,
    2. or press (for over 2 s) on the Machine room audio unit.
  3. In the voice menu:
    1. Press 9 for administration.
    2. Press 1 for access to the programming menu.
  4. Enter the service password and click  for confirmation.
  5. If the service password is correct, L8 will announce:
    „You have entered the programming menu, select a parameter.“
  6. In the programming menu, press:
    899 serv    ice password

Via SMS

  1. Make sure that your service password is correct.

  2. Send a message in the format " L8 DEF service password" ("L8 DEF 12345", e.g.) to the Central Unit phone number. 

  3. If you have done everything correctly, you will receive a confirming SMS: " L8 DEF OK".
